Tutorial

This mechanic has been removed from the game, and it is currently unknown if said mechanic will return to the game.

The tutorial was a guide that helped a new player in playing Town of Salem. It was released in Version 1.3.0 and removed in Version 1.4.0.

How to select/choose an in-game name and an introduction to the role wheel and how it works
The different phases in-game (Day, discussion, voting, trial, and Night)
How to use the customization settings (changing your avatar, pet, scroll, house, and death animation)

A bit about the Jailor and the Sheriff

Tutorial[]

If you were new to the game, your guide would greet you and introduce himself as a Serial Killer. In the mandatory tutorial, you would be playing with eight NPCs, plus yourself. When you would get to the role wheel, your role would be Serial Killer. Each NPC would be called Player with a number after it, with numbers two to nine in words (e.g. Player Two).

The game events set-up[]

All the roles in the role wheel would have a chance of 11% and lots 10/90 (x1).

Night 1: The guide would tell you to kill Player 2 (Medium).
Day 2: Medium died to you, and Mayor (Player 3) died to a member of the Mafia. Player 4 would claim Sheriff and try to get the Mafioso lynched. Another player would agree with him. The guide made you vote him up and vote guilty on him.
Night 2: The Jailor would jail you that Night, and ask you for your role. The guide would tell you to claim Doctor to avoid being executed and allowing you to kill the Jailor. In this part, you would type "I am the doctor." After typing that, the Jailor would say he believes you, following with his death.
Day 3: The Jailor died to you, and the Bodyguard killed the Godfather in a duel, also killing the Bodyguard, leaving the Sheriff, Doctor, and you.
The Sheriff would say that they need to find the Serial Killer, and the Doctor would claim his role. The guide made you claim Doctor to the Town, requiring you to say that same thing as you said to the Jailor. Once you say it, the Sheriff would say he does not know who to believe, but would still vote the real Doctor, whilst the real Doctor would vote you. The guide made you vote for the Doctor and lynch him.
Night 3: The guide would get you to kill the Sheriff (the last Townie) and you would win the game after that.

Other[]

The rest of the tutorial showed you how to customize yourself and how to spend Town Points. You must have bought a scroll with your Town Points, then you would equip it, and then the tutorial would end.

Trivia[]

You were able to send messages while deaths were being announced. This wasn't possible to do in an actual game, and still isn't to this day.
