Neutral Evil[]
The Neutral Evil is a Neutral alignment which is made to disrupt Town. This, however, is debateable as some people argue it is to support evils. In my opinion, it disrupts the Town, as their goal is "Live to see the Town lose". This indirectly supports the evils, but their goal does not necessarily have to win with them. The alignment consists of the Executioner, the Jester and the Witch.
Problems[]
I will expand on the Jester and the Executioner in a separate blog, as I believe there is much to say about them.
- The Jester
- The Jester is, frankly, an awful role. I will be focusing on why it doesn't work as a Neutral Evil. It offers disruption to Town, however relies rather heavily - completely, in fact - on DAYCHAT. This is unreliable, as it has no definite control on anything and therefore cannot consistently disrupt Town.
- Admittedly, the Jester often makes Town think twice. This inherently disrupts Town. I do not agree with this and will cover it in my next blog post.
- The Jester can very easily harm scum. While the Jester can have a choice on who it kills, it has no definite control or result; it relies absolutely on scumreading. This, however, is not the largest problem. The Jester has no alliance once the goal is complete; it has no need to further disrupt Town. Since Town has majority and would be the ones to vote you up, you're likely to side with them since they helped you.
- The Executioner
- The Executioner has many flaws which I will address in my next blog post, but the huge issue with this alignment placing is that it has no alliance to scum after its target is hung. Due to Town's majority, they will most likely be responsible for the hanging of your target. This means that they've done you a favour. With nothing to force you into supporting scum, you're likely to pay the favour back and help Town. This goes against the idea of Neutral Evil.
