On the dark night of Halloween, a little girl plays the piano, with dark eyes. She clearly doesn't want to be there, and every note gets louder and louder as her hands refuse to play a chromatic passage correctly. After smashing the keys into oblivion, she hears laughter outside of kids playing. She sighs.

"Mom, can I go?" She lifts up her mother's phone and shows the time. It was 7, and dark out already.

"Already?" The girl's patience was done.

"Yeah, I think I want to go. See, it's already late." She grumbles. She storms up the stairs and looks through the closet. No costume this year, just like every year. No ideas, she wasn't creative enough. No friends to go to, they all left her. And so, she went out to trick or treat by herself, as herself, with no friends or company other than the small children that run past her, parents scolding them not to go into the street.

She goes up to the first house. "Trick or treat." She says, nervously.

"Where's your costume, dear?" The lady asks.

"I, uh, don't have one..."

"That's a shame. Have a good night." The girl scolds herself for ever thinking she could have fun, and runs off, despite her mother telling home she had to be home soon. However, the girl did not ever plan on having fun. She never had fun. She ran out the neighborhood in her sneakers, out past the nearby school, and ran for miles on end, past restaurants, fun people dressed up in costumes, and soon finds herself somewhere she's never been before. She's lived here her whole life, yet she's never seen the place.

8 o'clock. The girl doesn't care, she just wants to run away. She runs more, and as she's out of breath she walks around, seeing people in the streets, partying, having fun, and being with friends. I don't belong here.

9 o'clock. She should be home. I don't know where home is. She thinks to herself and suddenly starts to get scared of being lost. She stops by a nearby shop and sits down. She hears a song being played on a little piano. She looks over, seeing a boy that was in his teenage years, playing the instrument. She stares with soulless eyes until one of his multiple friends whispers in his ear that she was staring. He looks over and then goes on playing, attempting to show off. She, however, walks out, having heard enough. His playing is worse than mine, she thinks to herself.

10 o'clock. As people start to go home, she walks into a convenience store and buys some candy that was on sale. Chewy candies, her favorite. She dumps them all in her bag, to make it seem as she went trick-or-treating.

"Hey, did you hear about the haunted house?"

"Haunted? You mean the one in that neighborhood? It was way scary." 2 girls laugh.

"That was my uncle's house, my cousins were all there. That's hilarious!"

The little girl gathers her courage and asks a random house to use their phone's GPS. It turned out the be the house that the boy playing piano and his friends were partying at. However, as soon as they gave her the phone and she was about to walk away, she felt a cold shock and then started to choke and cough. They were all laughing behind her, taking pictures and not even bothering to help her. She was shivering violently, and she finally barely managed to open her eyes. Her light blond hair, now dirty and coated with blood. It was already starting to dry, and it was all over her body as if someone slimed her with it. She then started to cough and tried to walk away.

They're all laughing...they think it's funny. She thought to herself. Every step was harder than the last, until she collapsed, and hit her head on the driveway in the process. She lay, unconscious.

A teenage girl was walking home and saw it all happen. She went up to the boys and tried to scold them, but they simply thought it was cute. She then tried to help the little girl, and her boyfriend stepped in, scaring them all and making them shut the door. They brought her to their house and kept her company and shelter. They then found her address and planned on taking her home.

"You think she'll be alright?" The girl asks. Her boyfriend comes and hugs her from behind.

"She'll be fine." Suddenly, the child awoke. She opened her eyes, and to the couple's horror, one of the irises in her eyes were bloody red. She had bags under eyes and looked horrible. She eyed her bag and walked over to pick it up. She was acting as if the situation hadn't happened to her. She unlocked the door and walked out.

12 o'clock. Halloween was over. Yet, none of this phased her. She turned around to the couple, blood dripping down her face.

"Trick or treat." The moon suddenly glows red, the same color as her eye. It was a blood moon.

__

It was the next day. She opened the door to her house. She eyed the little piano, and the same song and passage she had played the night before. She chewed a piece of candy and looked towards a glaring face, unfazed. She looks up, with her red eye.

"I'm home, mother."

And the very next day, the child disappeared without a trace of existence.
